Alejandra Martinez
Hailed as a “major voice,” “consistently rich and beautiful,” and capable of “tremendous fervor,” soprano Alejandra Villarreal Martinez made her Anchorage Opera debut with Frida last February, a reprise of the production she performed with Long Beach Opera. Favorite roles include La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), Salud (La vida breve), and Margarita Xirgu (Ainadamar). In concert, she is a highly versatile artist, leading performances of Orrego-Salas' Ash Wednesday, Beethoven's Mass in C, and Penderecki's St. Luke Passion, along with engagements with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Roger Kalia, most recently performing Sarah Kirkland Snider's Penelope. This Fall, she will make her New Mexico debut as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly with Opera West! Learn more about Ms. Martinez's upcoming projects at https://www.soprano-alejandra-martinez.com
