Eric Castro recently performed in two live outdoor concerts produced (safely) by Chorus Maestra of California Philharmonic, Marya Basaraba, which spanned Mozart, Bizet, Rogers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.He also recently performed out of doors with an ensemble of the Palisades Symphony with Handel and Kern & Hammerstein. His most recent indoor concert (pre-2020), was as “Emile de Becque” in highlights at the The Wallis Annenberg Center.Full productions from recent seasons include Giorgio Germont with Palisades Symphony, and Schaunard with Marina del Rey Symphony at Burton Chace Park.Eric was Javert in scenes from Les Miz at Walt Disney Concert Hall with California Philharmonic; and, also at WDCH, he was a soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Los Angles Lawyers Philharmonic. Other operatic roles include the title role in Don Giovanni, Amonasro and The King (Aida), Count Almaviva (Nozze), Marcello, Sharpless, and Escamillo. Other recent oratorio concerts include: as Raphael and Adam in Haydn’s The Creation with Palisades Symphony, and as soloist in Rachmaninoff’s The Bells, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, and the Mozart, Brahms and Faure Requiems. Also a classical actor, and member of the Archway Theatre Company, Eric’s performance in 2018 as Christopher Marlowe’s Faustus was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role by Broadway World. He has also played the roles Claudius (Hamlet), Ford (Merry Wives), Friar Laurence (Romeo & Juliet), and Oberon, Theseus, and Bottom in (different) full productions.
