Eric Castro
In 2021, Eric Castro performed the title role of Don Giovanni in the Mission Opera production at Canyon Performing Arts Center; and performed in two productions of Menotti’s Old Maid & The Thief as “Bob.” At Walt Disney Concert Hall, Eric appeared as “Javert” in scenes from Les Miz with California Philharmonic; and was also a soloist at WDCH in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony Ode to Joy with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic.
He performed in a series of concerts spanning Mozart, Bizet, Rogers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, and was seen as “Emile de Becque” in South Pacific highlights at the The Wallis Annenberg Center. Other operatic roles include “Giorgio Germont” in La Traviata, “Marcello” in La Boheme, “Sharpless” in Madame Butterfly, “Escamillo” in Carmen, and “Amonasro” in Aida. Recent Oratorio performances include “Raphael” and “Adam” in Haydn’s The Creation with Palisades Symphony; and as Soloist in Rachmaninoff’s The Bells, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, and in the Mozart, Brahms and Faure Requiems.
On December 4, 2022 Eric will be performing Bass solos in a Messiah with the Palisades Symphony. Also a classical actor, as a member of Archway Theatre Company, Eric has performed Shakespearean roles in full productions as “Claudius” in Hamlet, “Ford” in Merry Wives, “Friar Laurence” in Romeo & Juliet, and “Oberon/Theseus” & “Bottom” in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Eric’s 2018 title role performance as “Christopher” in Marlowe’s Faustus was nominated for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” by BroadwayWorld.
