Marisa Robinson
Marie-Anne Pierrette Paulze Lavosier
Saturday Matinée and Sunday Evening
What do you do with a degree in Chemistry? Co-found an opera company, commission a new opera centering women, and premiere the role of Marie-Anne Pierrette Paulze Lavoisier, the Mother of Modern Chemistry, apparently. It is Marisa Robinson‘s profound joy to make her West Coast debut returning to the role of Pierrette, who is very special to her. Science and art are the two halves of her whole. Other favorite roles include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Ännchen in Der Freischütz, Angelina in Trial by Jury, and Casilda in The Gondoliers. Offstage, she is a Pure Barre addict, a ridiculous fan of peanut butter with chocolate, and the Executive Director of Wilmington Concert Opera (where Girondines had its east coast in-concert premiere in October 2022).
