Rosamaria Garcia

Alto

Rosamaria Garcia started her musical journey with children's choirs at Saint Mary's and Resurrection church in Boyle Heights. With over 20 years of choral experience, Rosamaria continues to share her gifts with the community as a cantor for St. Mary's Church, a volunteer at St. Bede's the Venerable Church, and as an auxiliary choral member for "The Los Angeles Korean-American Musicians Association" where she sang at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. She has dedicated the last 7 years to developing her vocal technique through private lessons and expanding her classical and operatic solo repertoire. Some of her favorite arias are from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, Puccini's La Bohème, and Verdi's Otello.   Rosamaria received a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from California State University of Los Angeles and an Associates Degree in Music from East Los Angeles College. Rosamaria recently traveled to New York City with "Joanna Medawar Nascef Singers: to perform Mozart's Coronation Mass and local composer Georges Tomb's "Memorial Bow" at Carnegie Hall. This Spring Rosamaria is making her role debut as Countess Almaviva in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro under the direction of Janelle De Stefano and Mercedes Juan Musotto. Rosamaria Garcia is one third of the vocal group "Voces de Amarilis," where they perform a wide range of music, from operatic trios to Spanish boleros.
