Stagehand

Based in the greater Los Angeles area, Jason Vincent is a bass-baritone renowned for his warm, rich tone and thoughtful musicality. Acclaimed for his versatility, Jason excels in a variety of genres, including oratorio, lieder, choral works, vocal jazz, musical theater, and classical repertoire.

Jason's musical journey began at San Jose State University, where he studied vocal performance and music education. During his time there, he was a founding member of the university's jazz choir, showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend classical and contemporary styles. His exceptional talent has made him a sought-after soloist for ensembles such as Peninsula Cantare and St. Thomas Aquinas Church, along with numerous other Silicon Valley groups.

From 2016 until the Covid-19 pandemic, Jason was a dedicated chorister and cover artist with Opera San Jose. Following his return to the stage, he has been collaborating with Edna Garabedian and Fresno's California Opera Association. In summer 2021, he debuted as the cover for Oroveso in "Norma" and portrayed Balthazar in "Amahl and the Night Visitors." January 2022 marked a significant milestone for Jason, as he premiered the role of Ahmad/Shah in "Paradise for Beginners", as well as joining with Mission Opera.

Since 2023, Jason has been a board member, part of the production team, and prop master with Mission Opera. He has also performed in their productions of "Romeo et Juliette," "Susannah," "Girondines," and "Madama Butterfly." This season, he continues to captivate audiences with his performances as Sharpless in "Madama Butterfly" and The Father in "Hänsel und Gretel."

Jason attributes his success to the unwavering support of his family and his unwavering ability to hit the low notes without scaring the neighbors too much. He’s eagerly anticipating many more remarkable seasons ahead—because, let's face it, there's always room for another bass in any opera.
