Community Relations

Constanze Bonelli, soprano, is excited to be involved with Mission Opera as a singer and board member after taking a break from singing opera. Despite her Italian sounding name, Ms. Bonelli is a native of Germany, but received most of her vocal training in the United States. She holds a BFA degree in vocal performance from the California Institute of the Arts, and a Master of Music degree in opera performance from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. While at U of I she studied with such distinguished singers and musicians like Sylvia Stone, Mignon Dunn, and John Wustmann. Some of Ms. Bonelli’s opera roles include Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte), Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), and Sharon in Terrence McNally’s play Master Class. Ms. Bonelli is a resident of Santa Clarita where she sings with the Santa Clarita Master Chorale and is otherwise very active in the arts community. She can also be heard singing chamber music of all genres in the greater Los Angeles area. Ms. Bonelli wants to thank her husband and two sons for encouraging her to always keep singing!
