Bess Knight has been a lover of the violin since she started playing the instrument at 8 years of age. She has performed with Symphony of the Canyons, the Santa Clarita Philharmonic, and the Mission Orchestra, as well as being a requested artist on several recordings. She has been a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra (SCVYO) board of directors for several years, serving as executive director for 5 years, and is currently the Board Treasurer. Bess holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Family Counseling. Her career as a Foster Care and Adoption Social Worker spanned 20-years, as she supervised hundreds of children placed in out-of-home care and facilitated the adoption of countless of those on her caseload. Bess and her husband, Chuck, have been married for 34 years, are retired, and reside in the Santa Clarita Valley. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, music, hiking, traveling and their fun-loving English Springer Spaniel pup, Katy.
