Robert L. Blake is a Los Angeles-based conductor and pianist. He is active in regional opera, leading productions of Rigoletto, Così fan tutte, Hansel and Gretel, and Otello with VTO and LTD Opera, and recently played in LTD's newly commissioned opera The Janitor. Around LA, he can be heard playing piano, harpsichord, and occasionally other keyboard instruments with singers and instrumentalists, performing music from the 16th century to the present. In the summer, he is often coaching chamber music with the Sonad Project in rural New Hampshire. As a teaching artist with LA Opera Connects, he is privileged to share opera and collaborate with people of all ages and walks of life in Los Angeles. He studied at the University of Southern California and the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati (CCM).
