Lily Berthold is elated to be making her debut with Mission Opera in this fun production of The Merry Widow! Born and raised in historic Manassas, Virginia, Ms. Berthold is an up and coming opera singer currently based in Los Angeles. After making her operatic debut in the summer of 2023 as Die Zauberflöte’s ill-fated heroine Pamina, Lily has quickly become an in demand singer.

The young soprano is making her mark on the opera scene throughout California, having performed with many notable opera companies statewide, including: Opera San Luis Obispo, Pacific Lyric Association, Opera Italia, Guild Opera, & Landmark Opera. She made multiple role debuts in the Winter ‘23/’24 season, including: Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), & Annina (La Traviata). The Summer ‘24 season will see two more role debuts from Lily: Valencienne (The Merry Widow) & Frasquita (Carmen) with Guild Opera. Ms. Berthold also won 1st Prize in the “Sigma Alpha Iota PAC” Aria Competition in Spring 2024.
