Suor Angelica
Suor Angelica tells the tale of a woman who bears a child out of wedlock and is sent to a convent to repent for her sins. The opera takes place in the span of a single day, following the sisters during a celebration for the start of spring. This one-act opera is from a Trittico, or series of three one-acts, and was Puccini’s favorite of the set.
